Peer Support Lunch & Learn October 26th Virtual Training: Boundaries for Peer Supporters
Register today for the OhioPRO Lunch and Learn training series. This important training will provide certified peer attendees with 1 hour of continuing education credits that can be used toward their certification renewal.
This month’s training is on boundaries for peer supporters. This hour-long presentation will cover how to set appropriate boundaries with peers and how to maintain and adjust behaviors to redirect peers to keep a professional but empathetic relationship.
OhioPRO is pleased to announce that this training will be led by Cinny Roy, MA, LPCC-S. Cindy is the founder of the Eve Center. She completed a Bachelor degree at University of Cincinnati, 1979 and a Masters of Art in Counseling at Cincinnati Christian University, 2003. She is a licensed professional clinical counselor for the state of Ohio and holds supervision status with the state.
This training is on October 26th from 12-1:00 PM.

Building a Peer Supporter Career Event
Mental Health America of Ohio is hosting a “Building a Peer Supporter Career” event on Tuesday, October 24th at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. Attendees will learn more about how to become a certified PRS, what services PRS provide in different settings, and how PRS maintain their own recovery when helping others. The Weitzman ECHO Peer Support Series and Survey
Coming soon! An interactive, virtual continuing education program created for rural Certified Peer Supporters in Ohio called Weitzman ECHO Peer Support is currently being developed by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, in partnership with a national public health and research organization, the Weitzman Institute.
Certified Peer Supporters throughout Ohio are welcome to take the survey. Your responses will help us determine which topics will be including in this program. Additionally, feedback will be considered by OhioMHAS to inform future training opportunities for Certified Peer Supporters throughout Ohio.
The Weitzman ECHO Peer Support learning series will:
- Launch in the winter – please lookout for more information to register for the series in a few months!
- Meet twice-monthly for one-hour on Zoom for 8 months
- Convene diverse panel of experienced Peer Supporters, medical and behavioral health providers, and Peer Supporter facilitators
- Include brief presentations followed by time for discussion and brainstorming about your challenging client scenarios
