The Heart of Hope S.O.S. Regional Engagement Sessions

The Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) cordially invites community partners to participate in statewide Engagement Sessions to help plan for the next State Opioid and Stimulant Response (SOS) “4.0” grant opportunity.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) forecasted the State Opioid Response “4.0” funding opportunity for state agencies to apply in mid-March. As OhioMHAS prepares the application to SAMHSA, the Department is particularly interested in incorporating strategies and innovative ideas identified at the local level to successfully prevent, treat, and provide life-long recovery supports aimed at achieving long term success in addressing opioid use disorder, stimulant use disorder, and co-occurring disorders.

The SOS “4.0” Engagement Session agendas are designed to promote inclusive, accessible, and respectful conversations focused on Ohio’s progress and work to be done. These are measured by the SOS National Outcome Measures (NOMS), including abstinence, crime and criminal justice involvement, employment/education, social connectedness, stability in housing, and general health outcomes collected on the GPRA and SOR-TOR Tools.

Ohioans with lived experience, actively receiving or have historically received SOS/SOR funded services, county Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Boards, and partnering community members, families, community-based organizations are encouraged to attend a SOS “4.0” Engagement Sessions in their region. These sessions will be held in-person during the month of March 2024 at the locations, dates, and times provided on page 2. There will also be a virtual engagement session for those unable to in person. Registration is open and kindly requested for each event.

Sessions are free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested, please use button below to register for the session and take the pre-survey.
